Lie, Lie & Beyond Lie

We all are born to tell truth and do not understand the meaning of lie. Child do not understand what to say, how to say but he/she do say what he/she feels, sees, hear, experience; hence we say "bacche mann ke sacche" in other words; "kids are true to their heart".

Elders will preach "Do not say lie" "Always say truth" blah blah... but then as time goes, same elders will say them to say lie according to the situation (might be to hide their own mistakes or to hide truth which they do not want to reveal at home, etc). Children might not understand the difference between the two (truth vs lie). They just obey/follow elder instruction but then this lead them to say lie and thus journey begins of saying lie, lie and beyond lie.

Our own childhood days; we use to say lie to teachers if we have not done homework, we say lie to our parents to escape from school bcos we are afraid of exams or punishment from teachers, we say lie to get more time to play, to escape from tuition or study at home, to hide our low marks / percentage we get, and many other such things.

Lie for everything and anything we wish to do; be it to hide our mistake or be it to enjoy our life without elder’s knowledge or to indulge in bad habit due to peer pressure or for our own interest/entertainment. It may be bunking classes, watching C grade movie, smoking or drinking, meeting our GF/BF without parent’s permission, spending lavishly, etc...

We say lie for love, for own mistakes we want to hide, to protect ourselves or someone who is dear & near to us, to achieve something great, to boost our image or heighten our pride status...
Lie is nothing but defence (for hiding our own mistake, etc.); fun (to meet lover, indulge in bad habits for our own entertainment without other knowledge, etc.); cheat (for trade or business, to backstab our own enemy, etc.); protection (for our own dear ones, giving someone chance to improve, etc.); happiness ( to give our dear ones feeling of being special to you). There are many excuses, reasons and in fact seasons too for saying lie and lie and beyond lie. Lie too has flipside of coin. One is darker side (defence, fun, cheat, etc.); while other is brighter side(protection, happiness, etc.).

Navjeevan Express - Journey to Ahmedabad

Sun woke up at 7am and sun rays touching earth. I too finally woke up with a new beginning of my life and moving forward to new direction of my life. Got ready, said final or partial bye to all my dear one and boarded my train. Train send me back to childhood days when I along with my family use to travel in train. Nowadays, I was travelling by air for long distance (say Chennai to Ahmedabad). I had reservation in AC Coach and got a seat where 7 kids were heading towards Ahmedabad with lots of spirit and fun (they were participating in sports event). I too was enthused seeing their masti, fun and wow their UNO game caught my childhood imagination. I couldn’t stay much over there as kid's coach requested me to exchange seat (from B1 compartment to B3 compartment).

I took my luggage (my laptop bag & airbag) and headed towards B3 (my new seat number 17). Surprisingly, B3 compartment was not at all crowded (I mean out of 72 seats only 10-15 seats were occupied). Initially I thought, passenger will come in later stations but it was not the case. I was all alone in my row i.e. from 17-24 seat number, I was all alone. To add more loneliness to it, I didn’t brought any of my mobile (Airtel & Reliance).

Journey starts with all alone with my thoughts, laptop, business magazines and yes few cockroaches :). Weather outside was so fine and so fascinating (that you will fell in love with it). It was raining all the way and weather was soothing. I was like fingers on my lips for whole two days (except calling tea guy "ek chai dena" or coffee guy "ek coffee"; I think a bit cheating is allowed, right). I was going through magazines and trying to figure out which article in which magazine is worth reading for me and then after going through all the 5 magazine, I found only 3 magazine are worth reading. I kept all the magazine aside for a while and thought to take nap.

It was now around 4pm after a nap and having hot coffee; mind is so refreshed and says wow, lets read magazine with fresh outlook. Took magazine and then another two and half hour went like nothing. I mean it was 6:30pm by the time I finished one magazine (explaining about 21st century organization, Need of leaders vs manager, etc.). Some elder came there and want to play cards as at their seat ladies were having snacks for themselves. I was interestingly watching their game and listening to their gujarati jokes. Train Ticket Examiner came once again and these gujarati folks asked him "when are these other people going to come ? " even me in back of mind was curious to know the answer. He said "Bhusawal, Jalgaon and like stations"). That’s means whole night I am all alone, one day all alone with no contact to outside world. You and your thoughts. (It was like Rajan standing and saying me "this is what mastermind is" you and your thoughts are left all alone; no outside world distracts you for a second too)

I was just thinking that these 36 hours journey (yeah, these long 36 hours) was any productive to me or rather say have I done any productive work? Answer to this question may be only reading that magazine was productive and to add little I wrote this blog as its interest me. Okay just cut this crap. I am on vacation ( I mean these 36 hours vacation) then why on hell I am trying to bring productiveness of these. Magazine reading has left a lot in my mind, I guess.

This Navjeevan Express is related to me from my childhood. I use to come to Chennai on my summer vacation on this train and back to our town (Jetpur) by same train. We use to enjoy a lot. People, stations, chai wala, hawkers, and many other small thing. We (me and my sisters) use to fight for window seat and then enjoy the scenery outside. When I got shifted to Chennai, I use to be so excited with train ticket as I am going to meet my parents and sisters. I do remember the journey with my close and best of all friend "Yatin". We enjoyed a lot a trip.

This is after 2 long years, I am travelling again by Navjeevan express. All my old memories are flashing one by one in front of my eyes and touching to my heart, This is true but cant ignore the fact that this all was possible only because I had not brought my mobile; else I would be talking on phone and these memories would have fade away from my eyes and me getting lost with my fiancée, friend or near one in present or future gossip.

Money Hai Toh Honey Hai

Back to theatre again.... I am real movie freak... whatever you say.. I choose this movie over "Mission Istanbul" being that action movie and I am sure that latter movie will give you headache and nothing else from it and even promos were not so promising.. This movie starring Govinda, Haniska, Upen, Aftab, Celina, Manoj & Esha (for song), Kim & Ravi (for minor or say crisp role).... Thought to be light comedy movie but turned out to be serious movie with bit comic scene....

Movie starts with no sense of title song.. "only tune i.e. Money hai toh honey hai" is quite humming lyrics but rest of line or lyrics is all bouncers... i mean head ache.. Starts with mad prem chopra.. he is mad.. and about to die and looking for heir who can take over his entire business empire... his lucky number is 6 so he wants to select 6 heirs to takeover... with no logic, no sense, nothing.. this guy select 6 mobile numbers and becomes happy as he got heirs for his business empire...

and you can guess 6 heirs.. brief about them

Govinda -- rich guy careless son. who dont care but entertainment with dad hard earned money (dream to enjoy whole life without tension but with entertainment and entertainment)

Aftab --- working in ad agency but his ideas are taken as bull shit and crap, seen as loser in office (dream to open his own ad agency)

Celina -- work for fashion design, designs clothes but tag is of famous fashion designer (dream to open her own fashion production house)

Upen --- struggling model... who works for low grade product model.. (dream to be top model & brand ambassador like saif, shahrukh)

Haniska -- TV serial actress.. (dream to be top actress of big banner movies)

Manoj --- unsuccessful businessman.. who loses his money but happy because he got some experience out of it.. (dream to make it big one day in business....)

Movie is simple and nothing to do with comedy or sense... Prem chopra is about to die and selects this lucky 6 heirs to take over... these 6 starts dreaming only to find out that prem chopra whose empire is about 1000 crores is in debt of 1600 crores.. these 6 people capabilities of themselves and join together to save the company and their lives and live their dream....

Ganesh is testing your patience, comic sense, or say every bit of sense u have in ur head for first half to complete and testing continues till the end of movie.. I was having no clue where the movie is heading, where is going, where it is tailing.. songs are forced inside the story.... except govinda, ravi and manoj (comic role) did justice to role.. u will find quite irritating and no sense in their head. lot of over acting...
If you guys/ gals are looking for comedy in this movie then forget it.. It's all about Money, Honey.... if u dont have value for ur money, u can waste it on this movie and still spend money for headache pills afterwards... and yes if u want revenge with your friend. u can recommend him/her to watch movie.... He/She will definitely have headache, will scratch each and every hair out of head, etc.... I would rate only 1 star out of 5... (dont watch type)

WANTED

I made up my mind two months ago for watching this movie the very first week. Trailers were simply superb... Assassin concept, Mind blowing stunts and to add more Angelina Jolie in her full action... After Tomb raider series, I think this movie will give more fame for action sequence perform by Angelina Jolie.... I was waiting for this movie to release and me to go, grab seat and enjoy the action-filled movie....

I choose this movie over HANCOCK (Will Smith) as a superhero just bcos of its human connect with assassin, action, etc.. which i could not related with superhero powers, extra ordinary, strength, etc... to do so in normal human life.
Movies starts with the note addressing to audience about the "Fraternity" who kills people to save world or say assassain people (killing one person can save lives of thousand). They have very ancient godly way of figuring name of person who becomes their next target.

Welsey (lead actor) shown as loser in office, loser in life (as his best friends sleeps with Welsey's girl), loser in everything.... It is when Angelina Jolie (part of fraternity group) meets him at grocery shop and then starts the fighting sequence with Mr. Cross (another main character of movie) (unbelieveably brillantly excecuted action sequence).. Be it at gun firing sequence in grocery shop, chase between car and truck, action sequence, the way Jolie drives the car (though few scenes are animated) still it hold your breath and makes you excited...

Morgan is head of fraternity group and wants Welsey to be part of it. He test him by making him to shoot wings of flies.. Welsey cannot hold gun but then on gun point, he manages to shoots off wings of several flies.. he wants to be away from all this (blood, killing, assasaination, etc) but then next day he found fortune (around 3.6$ million) in his bank account and then the boldly fire back to boss.. quits his job, hits his friend with keyboard.. showing his friend blooded tooth coming out... and while leaving broken keys shows message of "F**K YOU"...
Welsey goes under to intensive training (real blood shedding punches, knife cuts, etc). Each day he is made to sit tied with chair and get blows, punches till he feel down unconscious, then he goes for knife fight where he is really gets cuts badly.... really it is reallllllllllllllll blood shedding training to make him tougher and stronger for more will power.....

After the traning completes, Morgan gives him the first assignment from FATE OF LOOM (The Loom of Fate, a loom that gives the names of the targets through a binary code hidden in the weaving of the threads).. Welsey first hesitates killing his target.. thinking that why should he kill him without knowing what he did or why he did, etc.... but then Jolie narrates her childhood story where a fratenity member failed to assasain one person which resulted to death of her father in later days....
Story till here is smooth going and fine.. real excitement starts when there comes a twist, sharp U turn in story road line.... Cross who is behind Welsely is actually his father and wants Welsey to be out of fraternity group.... and welsey is under impression that Cross is professional killer and is behind welsey to kill him.... Welsey is trained and brought into group by morgan and jolie because Cross wont backfire or say attack his own son hence he is plotted against father... there is amazing and wonderfully executed scene where train falling down into valley and all these truth is revealed by Jolie (who is again accompany Welsey to kill him; as soon as he kills Cross)...
Welsey escape from train and fall into river valley and decides to destroy whole fraternity group and origin of the place.... he comes up with wonderful, rather say brillant idea to destroy the place and then attack.... Morgan with his fraternity members encircle him at gun point and there is where another twist revealed that morgan comes up with all fraternity members name as next target indicated from "Fate of Loom".. all are shocked, surprised.... Jolie fires such a way that bullet travels in circular manner and goes through every member head and finally same bullet goes to her head.... Welsey is out of revenge but by that time Morgan fleeds from scene...
Next scene was like Welsey is back to work... i thought "oh no, not again for that poor guy".. but it was plot set for Morgan to come and Welsey kills him by firing bullet from miles away (same as his father does CROSS does in the beginning of the movie)... THE END>.....
Plot, action sequence, twist, story line, subject are all appreciable but only one thing that did not digest me was the bullet firing technique.. though it may work, but still couldnt digest (specially the circular fire in the end of the movie killing all fraternity members in one shot.. it bypasses our Rajnikanth style... i hope Rajnikanth have not seen this movie.. else god will also wonder what will his unpredictable, unbelievable, nature defying stunts to come. ).... You will enjoy the bullet sequence too just because of the direction been shown and way it is being shot... Direction is more than perfect...
Overall i would rate this movie as three and half out of five stars... Movie does not bore you, keeps u excited, action sequence (be in train, car, bullet, anything) is executed brillantly... moreover i know u guys.. angelina jolie is back with action stunts.... "GOOD MOVIE" "MUST WATCH"

Jaane Tu... ya jaane na

I have to believe myself.. i have never been so movie buff watching movies after movies each coming saturday... i was clear that if this movie wasn't aamir khan production then i would have chosen "Love Story 2050" for watching this saturday. I knew that if aamir is producing then definitely movie will be sensible and worth watching.. and aamir does not let u down. For him, believe in script and execution; rest everything will fall into for success.....
"Jaane Tu.... ya jaane na" is a debut movie for "Imraan Khan" cute and choclately face.... (note: Imraan is nephew of aamir.. this movie was definitely not a launch pad for his nephew but it was director who choose imraan after having screen test and audit... aamir fall into this picture after the selection of imraan.) Genelia the lead actress was of course selected after the aamir khan intervention.. lets not fall into selection.. movie is without big name & fame stars.... i was curious to see this movie as it set in college life.. college friends... (seems from trailer)... it would be definitely fun going movie....
Now whats is pulling you for watching this in theatres apart from aamir khan production?
First is simple & straight story... Imraan - Jai & Genelia - Aditi... popularly calling each other as "Rats for Jai and Meow for Aditi" (Aditi is fond of cats and Jai being close and dear he is nicknamed as rats - rats and cats share close relationship -- hey hey halo.. i know cats loves as their foods.. but here the case is different.. like tom and jerry.. they both fight with each other but also miss each other and loves so much) are best and closest friends among the group... they are so close friends that their friend group and even families of both are mistaken it to be love and not friendship.. they are made for each other... so when and how these two realise the same... (dont stop here... i know storyline is simple... i told you earlier but still more to look out in this movie)
Second is wonderfully executed & story direction.... there is no as such dude of college or hero of movie concept. it is just like our college days.. college friends.. thinking they are friends but slowly realize that they are more than friends and are in love... such a simple story was executed and directed wonderfully that u wont feel that 3 hours went like puff...goof..... and movie is over... u will fall into story and though predicted, u feel excited about story going... same was shown in movie.. Friends are depiciting a story to boring / moody / proudy gal who finally grow interest and is more excited to know more and more about story....
Third flawless & natural acting.... you will find the natural talent coming up in all characters.. be it aditi, jai, or their friends or parents or financee of aditi or new girlfriend of jai or rajat kapoor family... there is as such no extra emotion been put up.. everything is flowing so naturally that you definitely fall into college days memories and your friends group and your crush, masti and all......
Fourth chart buster songs... u will enjoy songs "kabhi kabhi aditi" "Pappu cant dance" "nazareen milana, nazareen churana"... really chart buster songs... i was surprised to see and hear whole audience in theater were singing these songs in sync.. u will enjoy it.... and add more to this. there is no extra fitted songs as it used to be in love songs... it is college friends dude... every songs has its own charisma, magic, masti and fun within friend group.....
Fifth situational comedy.... u will crack up and go back to our comedies we use to do in college within group.. some scenes are really watch ... Jai fighting sequence with college brat. how he tackle him? .... Jiggi calling Jai and asking him whether he is coming for his own surprise birthday party & more to it, you have see his readymade reaction on birthday suprise.. (too good jiggi).... Situational comedy does not miss and definitely make u laugh . if not atleast smile...
List goes on but let me stop here else you will say me that aamir fan so writing much of positive notes for this home production movies.. Guys / Gals out there... point here overall movie is excellent with simple script executed and brought up story board wonderfully.. I will rate this movie 4 out of 5 stars... it is "must see movie" type else you will miss something.... go and grab tickets now.......

Two Strangers --- New Life in One Soul

This is in continuation to my previous blog "Marriage on cards" http://luvabhi.blogspot.com/2008/01/marriage-on-cards.html

It was D-Day for me when I have to choose a partner for my rest of life. I was nervous as well as excited. I was imagining her in my heart. Nervous (have to take decision for life partner) & Excited (want to meet a gal who cleared all criteria or condition set by my huge and big joint family... you would have come to know from my earlier blog)....

We met, had nice conversation, bit nervous & excited, striking friendship at first... and then after half an hour i could hear loud "YES" or say "GOD BLESS YOU COUPLE" (there is saying "God already decides couple in heaven itself" & "Made for each other").... we got engaged and then new life of ours starts ticking...... calls started flooding.. i am sure Airtel, BSNL, Vodafone, Reliance network would have got jammed.... You have to see me.. i was holding two mobiles, one landline receiver to greet my relatives & friends congratulation calls... Thank god, I am not octopus.. else i don't know how many mobile or landline i would be holding !!!!!!!

From here, our life began and with it new journey, new feeling, new responsibilities, new priorities, new plans...

Just imagine... two strangers met each other for the first time... they decided to live together for rest of life... slowly they began to know each other.... understand each other... enjoy each other warmth feeling... hugs, kisses and love for each other.... Accepting each other, sync & synergize so easily, become responsible for every action and reaction, biggest motivation factor, support and trust even when nobody stands with you, love even hatred is all around, never let u feel lonely, friend to whom you can share everything without any discomfort, you feel secure and warm his/her arms, feel like special and blissed, feeling of being loved and loving more than anybody in world...

Same person was once a stranger.. now is life partner.... gr8 ! what a phenomenon change in behavior ! what a chemistry ! and that too strikes so fast! Relationship bonding gets stronger and stronger with each passing day...

Many relationship comes with birth but this one is different and makes special as two different person are moulded into one new soul. New life starts with responsibility, trust, love, understanding, friendship, secure and everything person thinks to get......Two strangers starts a new life and becomes one soul in no matter of time.

Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic

I could not believe myself.. i am watching movies week after week continously.. first was Sarkar Raj, then Mere Baap Pehle Aap, then De Taali and now Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic... ufff.... so many more movies to come in coming week too.. My ghosh ! Love Story 2050, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Wanted, Hancock (dont get surprised; i do watch hollywood movies too)... I am blocked my timing for next few sundays too.... I have never planned for my other activities like this..... This would be a record for me going 8 weeks continously for movie on Sundays... can't help myself too... all faults lies with director and producers.. :) releasing movies week after week.... ;)
ok ok come to topic "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic"..... movie is about 4 kids who dislikes and wants to take revenge from Saif Ali Khan and then there is angel Rani Mukherjee sent on earth on mission by God (Rishi Kapoor) that she have to make kids and Saif like each other and as soon as mission is over, she will return back to heaven.
Movie begins with Saif childhood days... where he loses everything in life (his childhood love, mom, dad) and been sent to boarding school..... he remains isolated and always be lonely.. makes no friends hence no friends.. becomes adamant, stubborn but genius and successful businessman who wins prestigious enterpenur of the year award..... He meets with an acccident which results into death of family (mom and dad of 4 kids).... court orders saif a unique punishment ..... to take care of 4 kids untill youngest kid becomes 18 years. else lifeterm jail without bail... so this is real reason for 4 kids who were eagarly waiting to meet Saif and take revenge of killing their parents.... First night of kids at Saif home.. they pray god and yes god(Rishi Kapoor) listens to them and sends angel (Rani Mukherjee) to help kids and Saif to like and love each other....
ooopppsss... i forgot Amisha Patel... how can i? friends if u r thinking that Amisha is going to play a good role in this... then you are mistaken... she is there only for skin show and to have glamour in movie... Amisha plays as dumb girlfriend of Saif... which over period of time, even Saif wants to get rid of his girlfriend..... Amisha has no job but to bring glamour and do skin show for few seconds and vanish from screen.....
come on friends... dont get diverted from fairy tale..... kids does many pranks, loss to Saif but in vain... Saif does get anger but his patience works for him.... Rani does win heart of kids and slowly Saif too.... Saif gives good advice, helps in wining cooking competition, talks honestly and cutely and does not shout a word even when he loses billion dollar contract on kids.. this manner Saif wins kids heart and they are now on for Saif.... Saif too likes kids and yes in progress began to love our angel.. fears to say her but now Rani has to go to heaven back... she admits to god that she too began to like kids and Saif.. God makes her to stay back with them for rest of life and disappears...
Kids did a good job; emotional quotient, mischief and kiddish behaviour is nice.. Saif does justice to his role; rani brings screen more lively and amisha uuffss does much of overacting and over glamour.... Overall the movie does not have impact in heart or say not even impact on head.... story has nothing much to convey.... it is like "thoda pyaar thoda magic" has "No pyaar No magic" ... i would rate this movie as 2 out of 5 stars........ "Let Go" type movie. no harm in missing this movie....

De Taali

For me, it is another in a row fooled by the title of movie (first being "mere baap pehle aap")....... i know you too are thinking this as comedy movie.. my reaction is "naaaaaaahhhhhhhh"

If you ask me about story.... dont know when it starts, how it starts, where it goes and how it ends.... 3 friends... one (aftab)always falls in love with new gal... 32nd affair was hooked by a gal (rimi) who is behind his money and other two friends (ritesh and ayesha) are in rescue for his friend.... story ends with happy note.. rimi changes his nature and settles with ritesh... ayesha who is forced to think and made to think that her friendship would be love for aftab gets settles with aftab as final love..... THE END........ I think "De Taali" should be rephrase as "Matha Khali" .... and your head will cry and shout aloud "Mar Dali"... as a precaution do keep disperin for headache.

Movie has no substance or proper direction of story and falls short when compare to promos shown in air. Promos were quite promising but movie was hardly promising anything for audience. Title seem to be comedy between friends but turn out to be something else.... (dont ask me what) i dont remember.... slept for sometime in sofa seat in theatre.. (but my bugger friend woke me up, so couldnt able to get value for money atleast by sleeping in sofa seat.. he says that why i should enjoy movie by sleeping and he alone left for torture)

But yes u can sing around the title song "Everybody put ur hands together.. hands together... De Taali" .... Movie has songs whose lyrics would be understand and meant only for lyricst and music composer (for him too i doubt whether he understood or composed based on situation) i would give him credit for title track only that played at the end of movie (which is best part or say only the part which is worth watching in movie)

Overall movie will be like "LET GO" & "NOTHING TO LOSE IF YOU MISS".... i will give a score like 1 out of 5.... (which again depends on person to person and their taste of movie)

Cover Letter tips

Are you applying for a job vacancy? Don't forget to accompany your CV with a well written cover letter. A well written cover letter increases your chances of a meeting with the recruiter but ensure that your cover letter should not be a replica of your CV.

Here are some tips on writing a good cover letter to be sent along with the CV.

Ensure that you don't have a generic cover letter for all job requirements. It is very necessary to modify it according to the job requirement. If you do not want to take the load of modifying the letter every time you send out a job application, your chances of getting a job also become bleak.

Try to find out the recruiters name, if possible and address the cover letter to him/ her otherwise address it to the Hiring Manager.

Come straight away to the subject without beating around the bush. The subject of the cover letter should clearly state its purpose. For e.g.

Application for the position of Marketing Manager (Ref:____).

Give a brief introduction about yourself and the reference to the job notification to which you are responding.

In the next paragraph mention how does your candidature fit into the requirements of the notified job opening. May be you can pick up 4-5 important points from the job profile and write about your qualifications opposite to them.

End the letter with a courteous note and ask them to feel free to let you know if they need any further information about your candidature.

Follow up your application with the concerned person in 10-12 days.

This shows your seriousness in the job opening.

Personal interview-FAQs

When you are called for a personal interview, many types of questions spring across your mind, specially if you are an unexperienced job seeker. Here are some tips on answering the most frequently asked questions in a personal interview :

Tell me something about your self.
Go prepared for this question, as this is the most frequently asked question in the interview. Answer it covering your work experience, educational qualifications and a little information about your family background. Try to focus on key areas of your work while talking about your professional experience. This is an open ended question and can help you in taking the interview in which ever direction you want it to go. You should know where to put a full stop to provoke the desired question from the interviewer.

Why does this role interest you? Or why have you applied for this job?
Keep the focus of the answer to this question on your skills, experience and personal qualities. Link the job requirement to your skills rather than talking about the challenges, career and progression.

Why do you think should we take you for this job?
Don't panic if you are asked this question. Make sure that you have understood the job profile well before you go for the interview.
Relate your qualifications and work experience with the job requirements. If there are any new things that you are expected to perform in the new job, say that you are always open to learn the new things and take up the new challenges.

What motivates you at work?
You can say that competition and new challenges motivate you at work.

Why do you want to leave your present job or why did you leave your last job?
The reasons for switching the job could be numerous. The best answer to offer for this question is to say, for better prospects. Now they can ask you another question, what do you mean by better prospects? To this you can say, better prospects in terms of experience, and exposure.
If you have been made redundant, put your words across very carefully.
Your wrong words can give an impression that only you were the one whose position was made redundant, which hardly might be the case. May be you can say something like, Over last 8 months a lot of restructuring was going on in the company and 40 positions became surplus. One of them was mine but I have learnt a lot during my tenure at XYZ company and I am sure I can add a lot of value to a position like the we are discussing about.

What is your greatest strength?

Interpret this question as, what is your greatest relevant strength?

Or Why should we hire you? Tell them a strength that they want to buy.

For this you will need to properly understand the job profile and keep your answer ready. For example, if the job needs you to have convincing answers ready for the any type customers questions, you can sell your presence of mind or if you are required to change you sector or industry you can offer your adaptability as an answer. It is important to keep ready at least 2 examples of the mentioned strength.

What is your greatest weakness?
Interpret this question as, why shouldnt we hire you? There 3 ways to tackle this question. Judge the situation and use one of them.
First way: Use your sense of humour. If the interview is proceeding in the light way and you have built up a good rapport with the interviewer, you can get out of it by saying Icecream. Accompany it with a right body language.
Second Way: If you have to answer this question seriously, give a weakness which doesnt relate to the job under discussion. For example, you can say, I have been using a camera since childhood but I still dont know how to mend it. If it is spoiled, I will need to take it to an expert.
Third way: Understand the requirement of the role under discussion and say that others accuse you of having that weakness but you think that it is important for your work. For example, if the job needs a detailed study and leaving a single step might need you to re-run the whole process say that My colleagues accuse me of having a too much eye for detail but I have experienced that to do this work you need to go into details rather than cutting corners. I have worked with people following a shorter route and doing the whole exercise again, which I would not prefer to do.

What is your greatest achievement?
The underlying agenda is to know what personal qualities were required to achieve it. Dont go back too far to answer this question as this might give an impression that you have not achieved anything since then. Find a relevant answer in the recent past for this question. If you are a fresher and have been a topper of your college or university, you can say that during the interview.

Are you ambitious?
You can say that I am very ambitious in the way that I dont like to get to get a feeling of stagnancy. I want that I should always be getting new experiences and learning new things.

What qualities would you look for, if you were recruiting someone for this position?
To answer this question, you need to analyze the requirements of the job profile before appearing for the interview. The answer to this question would estimate your understanding of the role under discussion.

Are you speaking to some other companies? Or how is your job search going on?
This question gives you an opportunity to let the interviewer know that other companies are also interested in hiring you and gives you leverage while negotiating the salary. You can say, Yes, I am in the final round of discussion with two other companies. Approach the interviewer as a Problem Solver and not as a Job Beggar.

Which companies are you talking to?
You can maintain your integrity by refusing to disclose the names. You can simply say, they havent notified these openings so I believe they would not like their names to be revealed. At times, taking the competitors names might increase your chances of being hires. Analyze the situation and answer accordingly.

Are you ready to relocate?
You can say, for a right position and right company relocation should not be a problem. Do not close the discussion at the earlier stage by saying No.

You have stayed for a long time with your last company-Why?
Staying with the same company for too long may be considered as the candidate being un-ambitious. While answering this question you can say, Yes, I preferred to stay with them all this while because I was regularly adding value to my experience there and I was growing as a professional.

You have switched many jobs-why?
Too much job hopping gives an impression that the candidate is unstable and unreliable but you can put this query to ease by saying that you switched jobs to broaden your experience.

What was your biggest mistake?
Theres nothing wrong in admitting a mistake. A human being is bound to commit mistakes. This time it is advantageous to go back as far as possible in the past and find an answer. The advantage of doing this is that a youngster is expected to commit more mistakes than a mature and seasoned person. This would give an impression that since that time you have committed mistakes but not that big. Take the word mistake as liberally as possible and go back to your student life to answer this question. Probably you can say, if I could go back to my student life, I would have studied Biology instead of Math.

Why havent you got a job yet?
This question will usually arise if it has been sometime since you finished your studies and are still in the market without a job. You can say that, I have been offered some tempting positions in the last few days but had to turn them down as I did not find them right for my candidature. You can follow it up with some examples.

You do not have all the experience we are seeking for this position.
To answer this question, you again need to analyze the requirements of the role properly and match them to your candidature. If you meet most of the requirements, you can say that you have most of the qualities needed for this role and for the remaining you are always open to learning them. You can follow this up with an example from your last job where you learnt and did things that you didnt know earlier. Stay confident while answering this question.

Why do you want to quit your present job?
The reasons for you to quit the present job could be numerous, may be you don't get well along with your boss or your salary is too less but its not good to make derogatory remarks about your present company in an interview. You can give a more practical answer like, my present company is not able to offer me further growth opportunities and I have a feeling that its the time for me to grow up in hierarchy and learn further.

Have you ever made a mistake at work? How did you rectify it?
Everybody makes mistakes, there's nothing wrong in admitting it. In the interview you can say that yes , there have been times when you have made mistakes and learnt from them. Whatever you could correct yourself, you did that and for the rest you went back to your senior and took his help to sort it out.

What major problems did you face in your last role?
The agenda of this question is to understand if
You caused the problem
Could it have been avoided?
Your attitude to solve it.
It is safer to mention a problem which was caused by an external party rather than the problems within internal parties. May be you can take an example of the problem caused by a customer, vendor. Discuss what you did to solve the problem. If you took some leadership role also in the whole process, talk about it.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
By asking this question, the interviewer wants to see, how ambitious the candidate is. You can say that, 5 years down the line I would like to see myself in a responsible position where I can make important decisions in the favor of company and the company treats me as its asset. I am sure that this company can offer me growth opportunities like this.

How do you feel about doing repetitive work?
You can say that I understand that every job has an element of repetitive work but I enjoy fulfilling all the aspects of my job with equal enthusiasm and give them my 100%.

How did you manage to attend this interview during your working hours?
Everybody knows that you would not ask permission from your boss to appear for an interview. You can answer this question by simply saying that you have taken a off from the office to appear for this interview.

Would you like to work in a team or on your own?
The agenda behind this question is to understand if you are a team player or a solo performer. It might be risky to choose any one of them as the role for which they are considering you might need you to be a team player but the career progression which they might consider for you down a years time may need you to handle a more autonomous position. It is better to answer this question by saying that I dont have any such preference. I can comfortably handle both the situations, as the need arises. Now back it up with examples where you successfully worked in a team and where you performed an autonomous role.

If your last boss was present here, what do you think he would tell us about you?
This is again a question which can be answered in two ways.
First way: If the situation is light, you can say that, I am the diamond of his team, you must pick me up. This needs to be accompanied by a right body language.
Second way: If the discussion is proceeding in a serious manner, you can pick up a formal appraisal he gave you and say that I think he would repeat it here.

Has your career developed as you had liked?
The agenda behind this question is to understand if there had been times of dip in your career and if you lay the blame for them on others. Theres nothing to be ashamed of if there have been short gap in your employment. You can justify it by giving a convincing reason.
Look at your qualifications and social environment and relate your achievements to them, to answer this question.

What would you do if your team ceased to perform?
The agenda behind this question is to understand your management style. A good answer to this question could be, I will try to establish the reasons for non-performance of the team and try to eradicate them.

Would you take up this job if we offered it to you?
Again there are two ways to handle this question.

First Way: If you have built up a good rapport with the interviewer by now you can ask a more direct question, Are you offering it to me?
(with a smile and right body language). If they say Yes, you can say that off course, based on what we have discussed till now I am enthusiastic in taking up this position. How soon would you be able to get me a written offer?
Second Way: Alternatively you can say, based on what we have discussed till now, I will be happy to take up this position but there are still certain things that need to be discussed.

Your expected salary?
Don't jump at a figure when you are asked this question during the personal interview. Try to turn the ball back into the interviewers court and ask him the type of salary the company offers for a position like this. Still, if you are required to answer this question, mention a range rather than talking about an exact figure but don't keep the range too vast, you will be offered the one at the lower end. Probably you can say, I should be comfortable with something in the range of mid fifties.

What will you do if you are offered a job with a salary higher than this?
By asking this question the interviewer tries to analyze if the candidate will leave the job for a couple of thousands. Recruiting a candidate costs money to the company so they would like to hire somebody who has some loyalty towards the company. You can answer this question by saying that though you know the attraction of money every job offers but you would first try to analyze the growth opportunities with both the jobs. If your present company can offer you the desired growth with the industry trend, you would not switch. You will discuss the issue with your senior and ask his views on your growth in the present job and if you see that there is a potential to grow in the present job, you will stick otherwise you will politely inform him about your decision to move ahead in life.

Do you want to ask us something about the company?
When you are going for a job interview, go prepared. Try to find out the latest information about the company. When you are asked this question, you can ask interesting questions like the opportunities for you to grow in the company, the expansion plans of the company and the chances for you to grow there. If the company has been in news recently, you can ask questions related to that also

12 things your CV should NOT have

Your CV is your marketing brochure through which you try to sell a commodity, ie your skills to the potential buyer i.e. the prospective employer. The sole purpose of your CV is to fetch you an interview call. Nothing more, nothing less.

However, creating a CV isn't as simple as just using flowery language and pretty fonts. There are certain things that put recruiters off and if you want to make a good impression, make sure you do not commit these mistakes in what is arguably the most valuable document of your job hunt.

While the rules listed are well-founded, they are not carved in stone.
At times you will need to break the rules. If you want to add these things knowingly and purposefully to your CV we advise you to do that.

The points mentioned here are not listed in the order of priority; instead they are listed in the sequence in which they usually appear on a CV.

~ Colorful or glossy paper and flashy fonts Your CV is a formal, official document. Keep it simple.

~ Resume or CV at the top
Many people tend to add headings to their CV. The usual are CV, Curriculum Vitae and Resume. Do not do this.

~ Photographs until asked
Do not add your photo to the CV until you have been asked for it.
Photographs are required only for certain types of positions like models, actors etc.

~ Usage of 'I', 'My', 'He', 'She'
Do not use these in your CV. Many candidates write, 'I worked as Team Leader for XYZ Company' or 'He was awarded Best Employee for the year 2007'. Instead use bullet points to list out your qualifications/ experience like: Team leader for XYZ Company from 2006-2007.

~ Spelling mistakes and grammatical errors Proof read your CV until you are confident that it doesn't have any spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. These are big put-offs for the recruiters. Moreover, sometimes these mistakes might land you in an embarrassing situation.

A candidate who submitted his CV without proofreading it committed the mistake of wrongly spelling 'ask' as 'ass'. Now you can imagine the type of embarrassment he must have faced during the interview, when the interviewer pointed it out. These mistakes tend to convey a lazy and careless attitude to the interviewer.

~ Lies about your candidature
Do not lie about your past jobs or qualifications or anything which might have an impact on the job. You may be able to secure a job with these lies today but tomorrow you may lose it as well.

~ Abbreviations or jargon that is difficult to understand People screening your resume usually belong to the HR department. If they do not understand what the abbreviations and jargon mean, they will simply dump your CV in the trash can. Avoid over-using such terms as far as possible.

~ Reasons for leaving last job
Leave these reasons to be discussed during the personal interview. For example, some candidates write: Reason for leaving the last job: Made redundant. Avoid making such statements in your CV, they add no value.
Besides, if you do get an interview call, chances are the interviewer will address the issue.

~ Past failures or health problems
Mentioning these immediately slash your chances of getting an interview call.
For instance, you have a gap in your employment because you started your own business which did not do well. Some candidates might write

-- Reason for gap in employment: Started own business which failed. Do not do this type of injustice with your job hunt at this stage of writing the CV.

~ Current or expected salary
Leave it to be discussed while negotiating the salary.

~ Irrelevant details
Leave out the details like marital status, sex, passport number, number of kids, age of kids. These are usually irrelevant for most interviewers but at times could be used as a basis for discrimination.

~ References
Do not include them until asked. In fact, it is not even required to mention the line 'Reference available on request'. If the recruiter requires a reference, he/she will ask you to bring it along for the interview.

Now that you have run through the list, take a fresh look at your CV and prune away unnecessary details and unaffordable blunders that could have cost you your dream job

Mere Baap Pehle Aap

मेरे बाप पहले आप (Mere Baap Pehle Aap) sounds and seemed to be fullto masti and comedy movie ... Hmmm.. being straightforward and frank it is not comedy flick... it has situational comedy with a relationship topic and dealing with strong bonding of dad and son.

Sneek view : Akshay and Paresh Rawal lives in affulent bunglow. Paresh rawal is akshay's mom, dad, friend, everyting..... Om puri is unmarried guy who is at old age eagarly wanting to get married and enjoy rest of life... his only best friend is Paresh rawal who accompany him every time om puri goes to meet prospective gal and inturn get into trouble as women teasing police patrol is on move... it is just a luck that women inspector (Archana) is elder sister of Akshay friend and thereby releasing Paresh everytime but Om puri has to undergo some third degree punishment similar to that given in school. Paresh rawal finds her lost love (who is music teacher and mentor of genelia) just before intermission and then starts drama of trying to be younger -- hair dye, sports shoes, designer shirts, jeans, roaming around his love home again and again, finding excuse to meet her in college, etc.... akshay is not able to cop up initially and cannot digest this change in his dad.... he then finds out the suspense with the help of genelia (his love) and then reunite them (his dad & dad love) despite of others (society, relatives, and others).... infact he has to undergo the situation where he has to choose between his love and his dad happiness... and he like good son repaying for his dad virtues all these 24 years chooses dad happiness. and as what it starts well, ends well too.. he too get his love in the end...

paresh raval did a satisfactory and justice to his job, akshay is ok, new south actress fame of BOYZ superhit movie - Genelia is jolly and filled with enthu kinda gal is good in acting..... This time Om Puri stands different and outstanding for his comic scene..... infact comedy in this film is just because of Om puri...

Movie is about choosing who is more important for you? OWN LOVE or DAD LOVE .... YOUR HAPPINESS OR DAD HAPPINESS.... movie shows very strong bonding between dad and son and this is what touching and real meaning of "Mere Baap Phele Aap" "मेरे बाप पहले आप".....

Overall movie is good and can see once for timepass. I shall rate movie 2 out of 5 stars (which still depends person to person liking and taste of movie)......

Quarrel do happen in love

Couple who show that they love each other too much and does not quarrel with each other, couple who show that they love and understand each other very much that they don’t have any reason to quarrel, couple who says that they love each other and promise not to quarrel with each other, couple who say people in love live happily ever after, etc… are all greatest liars or have not faced the meaning of life or have not love from soul or pretend to be happiest and most lovable couple to outside world…
I would rephrase SPRITE punch line “JHOOT KEHTE HAI WO, JO KEHTE HAI KE UNMAI FIGHT NAHI HOTI” (original is “Jhoot kehte hai wo, jo kehte hai unhe pyaas nahi lagti”)

Quarrels do happen… Misapprehension does create problems… At some instance, they don’t understand each other… They do shatter promises… To escape from squabble, they do lie with each other or they do conceal something from each other…

Some quarrel is due to misconception, some are due to trust issue, some quarrel are due to hidden past matters & incidents happened, some situation are due to doggedness of either of partner, some arises when one does not know or understand the situation of other partner, some are due to lie got unfold at present, etc…

Some quarrel takes a serious note while some quarrel ends with sweet note. It all depends on the circumstances, the intent, the understanding, trust within, degree of possessiveness & envy, loyalty, etc… One can understand that couple don’t want everybody or outside world to meddle in their private life, it’s ok for outside world when couple are straight forward with this but then pretending something else to world, makes world to think otherwise (like “they are having fun with each other” “they are not serious with long term relationship” “they are big liars” etc…)

All love and no quarrel makes life dry and boring. No love and all quarrel makes life break into pieces and depression. Some love and all quarrel makes life doubtful and misery. All love with some quarrel makes life interesting and loving. There is nothing to hide about quarrel or say to pretend as if couple don’t quarrel who loves true from heart. Those who love from heart, they too quarrel but ends with better understanding and with more love for each other from heart.

LOVE FROM SOUL, QUARREL FROM SOUL, BE HONEST AND DON’T PRETEND. LOVE AND FIGHT ADDS SPICE IN LIFE.

LET ME KNOW

It was time when “Bas Itna Sa Khawab Hai” movie starring Abhishek Bachhan released and movie catch line caught hold my imagination string. I got into interest to write poem and I do remember my very first poem title “All I want is everything”. (Catch line of movie)

It was my English Teacher Mrs. Sood who caught me writing this poem during her class. She took my book and read. Guess what! She read and wrote remark “Good and inspiring poem. May you get what you want in this life! Everything… ” I was bamboozled. It was my very first poem and I too couldn’t believe with such remark. Remark made me to feel like “Abhishek Go Go Go, write more poems whatever interest my heart, you have talent in you”.

I wrote many poems during my college days and after writing each poem (whether in Hindi or English); I got into habit to show it to my friends who are interested in poems and know their feedback on my poems. Sometimes they like my poem, sometimes not, sometimes they comment on my language of poem and even sometimes they feel irritated. Writing poems become one of my hobbies and most important I feel happy when someone gives me feedback. This feedback gives me inspiration to write more and more.

Same poem writing continued during my initial MBA days but situation changed. No one (MBA colleagues, friends) ever took interest to read or give feedback or comment on poem. This slowly made me to lose interest in writing poems and I wrote no poems furthermore.

Now let go fast forward in my life: completed MBA, joined TVS-E, made new friends, and celebrated New Year 31st night at Pondicherry with friends. Pause here! After coming back from Pondicherry, I wrote mail describing our experience at Pondicherry. My friends liked it (the way I describe Pondicherry trip). Now fast forward, 3-4 months time flew, made few more friends in company and we planned for one day trip to TADA Waterfalls.

Stop. Play. After trip, again I wrote mail describing our trip starting from morning 5 am till we were back to Chennai 7 pm. Deepak came to me and gave feedback “Too good yaar, Mazza aa gaya padh kar. (Enjoyed reading this) Why don’t you write this in blog so that if we goggle TADA Waterfall, your blog should appear in first page result?” Very first thought came to my mind was “Blog! What is that?”

I don’t know what happen to my mind; I created my blog space in BLOGGER. I just copy paste the mail content to blog space. I wanted to share our TADA experience with other friends too, so I have sent the website link to friends. Many of them gave me good feedback on this blog. This inspired me write more blog. I was in search of topic for writing blog and finally wrote on Roman proverb “Rome was not built in a day”. As my nature or say behaviour, I sent mail to all my friends regarding this and waiting for their feedback. Many friends liked it very much and gave me good feedback.

So, this went on. Blogging become one of my hobbies (flashback; just like writing poem). I publish blog and yearn for feedback. Some read interestingly, some don’t. Here too some friends get irritated. Most importantly, I use to get feedback from friends which keep me inspired to write more. Infact, I am happy that this gave me a start to write poem again (which I lost interest long back) and same I had published on my blog website.

Feedback or comment on what you have done has a strong impact on person. It gives inspiration, lesson, show your good and bad mistakes and most importantly mirrors your ability & potential talent. It is in human nature to crave for feedback for the work done by him/her. Whether it be blog or poem or film or music or painting or even official presentation or anything, creator would definitely have thirst for feedback.

Whether good or bad, whether they liked it or not, what they felt after reading it, any kinda feedback or comment indeed is important for me. It makes me know where I did well and where I did worst. Some may feel excellent, some may feel it boring, some may feel it nice, some feel it crap, what matter the most is LET ME KNOW”.

Surprise

She accompanied by her friend at home, were listening songs on FM and eagerly waiting for clock to tick past 12 (reason “her birthday”). Just before it ticks 12, I reached home and gave her surprise. She was surprised. She jumped at joy, hugged me tightly and was so happy to see me on her birthday.

We had lots of masti whole night and did planning for next day to freak out and celebrate her birthday. We went to temple (yes, right temple for blessing), then shopping mall, then movie, garden and finally hotel for dinner.

Before reaching home, I was thinking that something is missing on her birthday. Gotcha! Cake is missing! Without wasting miniscule second, I called my friend to get delicious cake and deliver at our home.

We reached home and I got chance to escape from her sight. Before she enters into room, I had turned off the lights and cake was lit up with candles. As she entered room, she saw cake lit up with candles and we (I and her friend) sang birthday song. She was so happy like never before. One should see her face and happiness she is experiencing to believe. It was like she has got whole world in that small surprise.

One should see sparkles in her eyes, joy and happiness reflecting on her face. It was surprise and that was giving her immense pleasure and happiness which I think would not have given by any precious gift on earth. It was giving me gratification and much more satisfaction than giving gift on her birthday.

Surprise is such a wonderful moment which one can experience with immense happiness, joy and pleasure. Surprise is one such moment which can make anyone to experience happiness, joy nevertheless of his mood (whether good or bad, sad or normal, morose or depressed). Surprise makes the other feel special and has special place in our heart. Surprise is neither small nor big. Even small surprise gives us as much as happiness as that of big surprise.

Sparkles in eye, joy, happiness, pleasure, bliss, delight, ecstasy, feel like flying in seventh heaven combines into one such wonderful moment. THAT IS MAGIC OF SURPRISE.

Marriage on cards

My Friends (close and dear ones) always thought that I would be the very first bakra of this family natak and yes rightly said it is like convocation where guys losing his bachelor degree and girls achieve her master degree. Reason may be many, for them to think like this. For a time being, even I was fallen into this prey thinking of me being first bakra of our friend group but god is favoring me; I am not the first and also not like to be last bakra too.

Eye on every new girl, being more active in society parties, more calls to relatives, getting connected with far-known relatives, if get chance will browse photo album and ask in curiosity if any unknown girl pops out in pic….. Speed of Google result would be less than the search engine running in my family & close-first relative’s minds for searching suitable bride for me. Even matrimonial website has to think over before claiming themselves to be best and quickest match-maker.

But it seems like my mom, father, uncle, aunty, brother, sisters, relatives, grandma, close & dear friends are having different criteria or say different image for my bride. It is like in playing cards, joker is being matched with the ace card holder. Here too all my family members, friends, relatives are holding their trump card and I am being joker getting passed on and all are trying to make best match with their trump card.

Criteria or condition are like my mom wants her to be good nature and have respect for elders, dad wants to be from good upbringing, uncle wants her family to be financially strong, aunty wants her family background should match our status, brother wants family should have good business and of clean image, sisters wants her to be beautiful and fair colour, grandma wants her to be devotional, relatives wants her to active in many things (be it cooking, painting, etc.), and my close & dear friends wants her to be perfect match.

Just imagine, god listening to all these criteria and pleased enough to grant all wishes. I am very clear that I don’t want to be another panchchali (male version) of this modern era, getting married with five different gals satisfying one or other criteria for a perfect bride.

It is man who likes to be cuddling and getting cozy with as many as girls as he can on sofa but then I am well-versed with Govinda - Anil situation in movies (Thanks to Bollywood for educating to tackle such situation). My situation would be worst than SANDWICH and I would be running between GHARWALI BAHARWALI.

I would also like to imagine an image of a girl satisfying all criteria set by my family members, relatives and friends. Very first thought comes is KYA MAST HOGI YAAR! , then I AM LUCKIEST PERSON ON EARTH, then WOW! WHAT A LIFE IT WOULD BE! , then slowly WILL THAT GIRL ACCEPT ME? , then finally DOES SUCH GIRL EXIST? ……

Above all and but obvious I will be very surprised if any such girl passes all such condition filter so called created in minds, still final decision holds on my BIG “YES” or HUGE “NO”.

Feeling in LOVE

It was and is not a dream
An angel came to me
Face so glowing
Eyes so sparkling
Dress studded with stars
Crown shining with moon arch

She sat beside me
And her soft hands hold me
Together we flew so high
Thru the clouds and blue sky
To the new world so beautiful
Wonderful and more colourful

Garden is greener than been ever
Rose never seen much rosier
Silver lining on grass top over
Nightingale voice is sweeter than anyone hear
Lovebirds chirping here and there
Dolphin flapping to music of water

Under the soothing golden ray
We dance with colours of rainbow
Singing, enjoying
And cuddling in each other arms
Her tender hug and gentle kiss
Gave me the feeling of eternal bliss

She made me feel so special
Divine and so lovable
My world and myself
got new essence of life
When her lovely lips
Whispered to me “I LOVE YOU”

It was and is not a dream
An angel came to me
Face so glowing
Eyes so sparkling
Dress studded with stars
Crown shining with moon arch
