Christmas Short story

It was Christmas night.

Adi always uses to lit up the home.

He decors the Christmas tree and lights up completely.

He makes the Christmas-eve so special and lively,

He sings a jingle bell song to make the atmosphere crazier.

He creates the magic of Joy of Santa Claus.

He build-up the excitement and surprises with a lot of gifts just like real Santa Claus.

Chabbi was missing Adi remembering what he all use to do on Christmas, sitting alone at the window in her Christmas dress, looking at the sky and wishing Santa Claus will bring back her Adi as Christmas Blessing.

“Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho” Adi dressed in Santa Claus.

Kids ran in excitement and hugged him tightly.

“Where is my gift?” said the boy

“No, First give my gift” excited girl said.

“Ho Ho Ho... Kids I have bought gifts for all” Santa Claus smiled.

“I have two hands, and I will give both of you together,” said Santa Claus.

“yayyyyyyyyyy” both kids jumped in joy and excitement.

“But…. But….” Santa Claus continued.

Kids got serious.

“First promise me you both will be good boy and girl of your mom-dad” Santa Claus winked.

“Yeah, we promise” kids innocently said unanimously.

“Ho Ho Ho Ho….” Santa Claus laughed

“Here it is” taking out two gifts simultaneously, handing to boy and girl.

“Ho Ho Ho Ho…” Santa Claus smiled as both kids hugged him even more tightly in happiness and joy.

“Thank you, Santa… Thank you Mom Dad” Kids said and began to unwrap their gift.

“yayyyyyyyyyyyyy… my car” boy kissed Santa.

“yayyyyyyy.. my barbie” girl kissed Santa.

“Ho Ho Ho... Merry Christmas kids” Santa wished

“Merry Christmas” Parents and kids wished in unison.

Dad handed over a small envelope with money in it and bid goodbye to Adi The Santa Claus.

This was last home for the day.

It’s been late at night.

Adi reached back his home.

He sat on the couch.

Tired, alone, sad, wishing his son won't have sent him to old-age home after their mom’s (Chabbi’s) death.

Short Love Story - Bus Journey

Adi was sitting comfortably at the window seat of GSTRC (Gujarat State Transport Road Company) with the earplug on listening to his favorite playlist.
It was a regular 3x2 seating arrangement.
He was on his way to Rajkot from Vapi.
At Surat, many passengers got down and many boarded the bus.
Some old-age man was sitting beside him and at last, a girl covering the face by her dupatta.
Adi was least bothered with surrounding or co-passengers. He was so much in his playlist songs.
At the next stop, the old-age man got down and aunty in her 50s boarded. She gestured the girl to move inside as she wants to sit at last, as the next stop is her so it will be easy to get down.
The girl casually slides inside and was sitting beside Adi.
After some time, the girl requested Adi to switch seats; as she is feeling uncomfortable due to vomiting sensation.
Adi agreed and switched seats.
Adi took out some orange-flavored chocolate and offered her.
“Keep in mouth, You will feel good” Adi assured.
“No Thanks” the hesitant girl replied.
The girl took out her dupatta and was facing towards the window.
She was indeed beautiful and very cute.
Adi thought to divert her mind from vomiting feeling to the normal topic of discussion.
“By the way, I am Adi. I am going to Rajkot” Adi continued to talk.
“I am Chabbi. I am also going Rajkot” girl replied without any much attention.
“So do you study or work there?” Adi persists.
“I am working there in event management company” Chabbi replied.
“Wow… sounds exciting” Adi said with a smile.
Few moments of silence,
“So what do you do?” Chabbi asked.
“I am a businessman by natural choice and an author of 1 book old by passion” Adi with confidence.
Chabbi was fond of reading.
“Author?” Chabbi asked.
“Yes. Truly till the end of time, Unconditional Love is my book” Adi showed his book from his bag
Chabbi got impressed.
Chabbi always had a dream to meet an author personally and never expected that it would be fulfilled on the public transport bus.
Then began a long conversation about the book, life, future plan, work, and everything.
Adi again offered orange-flavored chocolate.
This time Chabbi accepted with a sign of new friendship.
They together listened to Adi’s favorite playlist sharing earplug.
They had refreshments together at tea-break by bus.
Once a stranger, now they seemed to be more like BFF (best friends forever).
Chabbi already began to have developed some feelings for Adi.
The bus was about to reach Rajkot.
Chabbi began to feel a bit off with a thought of reaching Rajkot and both of them going to their separate way.
Little did Chabbi knew, Adi too began to feel some magical connection with her.
They reached Rajkot and got down the bus.
Chabbi asked for orange-flavored chocolate one more time, Adi immediately took one from his pocket and it was the last one. He gave it to her.
Chabbi bit it into half and gave another half to Adi.
They both exchanged mobile numbers.
They both went in their direction and catch an auto.
As soon as Adi sat in auto, he was in the thought of Chabbi; his phone beeped.
It was Chabbi’s Whatsapp message “Keep in touch (hug smiley)”
Adi replied “Truly till the end of time with my unconditional love (heart symbol)”
and
thereafter
Adi-Chabbi love story began to blossom which started on the bus journey and will be there truly till the end of time.

Love in Rain

“I love this monsoon smell” Chabbi was in a completely different world.

“Yeah, It seems that it will rain soon” Adi replied in excitement.

“Yeah,” Chabbi said with her cute smile.

“Where is Neel?” Chabbi asked.

“Don’t know, as usual, he is late all the time” Adi smiled.

“Yeah, but it’s ok,” Chabbi said.

“Please call him; I just can’t wait more” Chabbi was nervous and excited.

Adi called.

“He will be here in 5 min” Adi assured Chabbi.

“Ok listen…” It began to drizzle before Adi could continue.

“uff.. ho.. Hope Neel won’t get wet in this rain” Chabbi got worried.

“He is very sensitive to rain; falls sick in rain” Chabbi continued.

“There he is….” Adi pointed towards Neel.

Neel was running from the opposite side of the road towards them.

It began to rain a little heavily.

Immediately Chabbi and Adi took out their umbrella.

“Hey Sorry….” Neel pleaded with an innocent smile.

“I always fall for you because of your innocent smile” Chabbi was in awe.

Neel just took it for granted and smiled.

“Let’s catch an auto and go home before we get drenched in this heavy rain” Neel continued.

“How romantic it is!!! weather, situation, perfect time” Chabbi thought

“Neel, I Love you” Chabbi blushed sharing her umbrella so that Neel won't get wet in this heavy rain.

“Huh… have you seen yourself? Don’t ever think me loving you?” anger Neel rejected Chabbi feeling.

Chabbi was crying and tears were flowing down her cheeks still, she was caring for Neel by keeping an umbrella above him so that he won’t fall sick in this heavy rain.

But little did she know,

Adi too was protecting her with his umbrella;

and she couldn't see him

as raindrops were mixed with Adi’s tear;

and she couldn’t hear him

as somewhere between thundering sound,

Adi too said “I love you Chabbi”

One Extra Minute

"Yep, Tell Me" Chabbi grasping her breath.

"Why in a hurry?" Adi asked with concern.

"You know my brother, if he sees me with you then...." before Chabbi could continue.

"Arre, nothing will happen. I will handle" Adi replied to calm her down.

"You don't know him properly... Anyway, say to me. Why you called me here?" Chabbi said tensely looking here and there.

"Hey.. relax.. Close your eyes" Adi was a bit nervous and excited too.

Chabbi closed her eyes.

Adi kneeled down with a ring held her hand.

Chabbi opens her eyes to get surprised.

"I Love you more than anything and more than my own soul" Adi proposed.

"Do you love...."

Bang... Bang...

before Adi could say any further, he was shot twice by Chabbi's brother from a far distance.

Adi fell on the ground lifelessly.

Chabbi was shocked by her face being splattered with the blood of Adi.

Chabbi cried loudly as she was being dragged back by her brother.

Chabbi wished to have that one-minute extra life so that she could say "Yes, I too Love you"

Adi was excited at the airport and happy for his Master Studies in Canada.

His friends (Neel, Kapil, Rohan, Jhilmil, Chabbi) came to bid him good-bye and wishing him good for a brighter future.

Just then, announcement "Passenger for Toronto please proceed for security check"

All friends hugged him but Chabbi was a bit upset and sad.

Adi smiled "What happened? I will be back soon after finishing studies"

Chabbi didn't utter a word.

Adi assuring Chabbi "Hey seeing you dull, doesn't make me feel to go. Do you want me to stay here and not pursue my dream"

Chabbi in confusion "Yes... Err... No"

Adi pulled her cute nose and said "Idiot" and left for boarding pass counter.

All friends were leaving outside the airport but Chabbi was still standing there and watching Adi.

Adi waved the final good-bye to Chabbi and proceeded towards the Security check.

He took his mobile from the X-ray check tray after completing the security check and his mobile beeped.

Adi casually looked at mobile.

It was Chabbi Whatsapp msg "Hey. do well and live your life; achieve your dreams. and yes, I am missing you a lot"

Adi stood still for a second.

"Sir... Sir... it's an urgent matter. Please please Give me One Minute"

Adi pleaded while requesting.

"But why?" the confused security guard asked.

"Please please. just allow me to go back One minute" Adi requesting with folded hands.

"Ok..." before security guard could continue.

Adi ran back on the voice of OK.

Ran with all speed and on sight of visitor area, he shouted "Chabbi... Chabbi"

Chabbi looks around to see Adi is running towards her.

He stopped... Grasping his breath...

Pulled her back within his arms.

Hug her tight...

"I Love you so much... I Love You.." Adi confessed.

Chabbi said yes with tears of happiness and love.

"Thank you so much for giving me One extra minute of life" Adi thanked the security guard happily and boarded his flight to pursue his dream with a promise to come soon for his love.

Adi committed suicide.

He was weak.

He failed in the exam by just 1 mark.

Somewhere in the crowd, I heard someone saying "He was pleading with the examiner to allow him One extra minute to complete last few questions"

They were enjoying themselves with friends.

All of sudden, Chabbi got disappeared.

Adi got tensed.

He began to search for Chabbi frantically.

And to his shock, he found his two friends were trying to rape Chabbi in Car.

His friends freaked out and ran away.

Chabbi jumps out of the car and hugged Adi.

"Thank you. had you been one extra minute late, my life would have been Hell" Chabbi cried.

He was so angry and frustrated.

Almost every publication house had rejected his book.

One fine evening, dejected Adi opened his laptop,

clicked on his book MsWord file;

and was about to delete the file from his laptop as well as from life.

But then, he took one extra minute to calm down.

Today Adi's book is a worldwide bestseller.

Adi had a very bad day in the office,

Dealing with a toxic boss, month-end target pressure and so...

He was just not able to have peace within.

Its been months no one had seen him smiling and happy.

Clock strike at 7 pm.

Adi calls off for the day and started walking towards the parking slot.

All of sudden, it began to rain heavily.

But our gloomy Adi didn't mind to get drench in this heavy rain;

He just wanted to reach home and have sleep.

As soon as he took a left turn from his office compound,

He saw Chabbi waiting at the regular bus stop.

As always, he went close to Chabbi and offered her lift on his bike.

Chabbi giggled "I like rain but don't wanna get drench today"

Adi with his cute smile "Make my waterproof bag as your umbrella; you might get drenched but not much"

Chabbi smiled "You won't leave me alone here, right".

She hopped up on the bike and held Adi's waterproof bag upon her head.

"But obviously, I promised you that I won't let you be alone" Adi replied with cuteness.

"And yes, dare you to leave me alone" Adi joked.

Chabbi patted hard on the back and hugged him tight from behind.

"Ok. Listen... Drop me at your home, I will catch an Auto for my home." Chabbi insisted.

Before Adi could continue, Chabbi again "You know na yaar, my neighbors are less of neighbor and more of a spy. And top of it, our building security guard is less of guard and more of CID inspector. I don't want unnecessary discussion and explanation to our neighbor or guard."

Adi assured her "As you say madam; I am at your service. I too don't want any trouble for you because of me"

"So Sweet" Chabbi giggled.

And to their luck, it stopped raining.

Beep... Beep... Beep... Adi received a Whatsapp message.

Adi came to the side of the road to halt bike and read the message

"Wow... Yayyyyyyy... I got an order" Adi flashed his bright smile and was in total happiness.

"This is bulk order and yes, by this I had not only completed my month target but also next month target too" Adi was complete in excitement.

"Party. Party. Party." Chabbi began to sing.

"yes. yes. Let's celebrate" Adi replied with positiveness.

"Pav-Bhaiji. It's pending for a long time" Chabbi insisted.

"Of course. Let's go to your favorite restaurant for Pav-Bhaiji" Adi smiled.

"Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy...." Chabbi celebrated.

They reached the restaurant and ordered 2 plate Pav-Bhaiji.

Just at the time of serving, Chabbi bit her tongue.

"Adi. Actually today I am having fast. I can't eat anything" Chabbi said.

"Oh... I can't force you to break your fast so I will also have fast with you" Adi replied with a smile.

Adi paid the bill.

Waiter was confused seeing 2 plates of Pav-Bhaiji was untouched. 

Both left from the restaurant.

"At least my longing for going to the restaurant got over, Sorry for Pav-Bhaiji. Now you too doing fast because of me" Chabbi teased Adi.

"It's ok. and yes, you know that I always give you company when you fast" Adi with his signature smile.

"Why are you so sweet and cute at the same time?" Chabbi chuckled.

Adi blushed.

"Let's go to our favorite spot" Chabbi demanded.

"I promise, I will make up there for pav-bhaji" Chabbi smiled

Adi got ready immediately. Kick-Start his bike.

"Here we go...." Adi said in utmost happiness.

They reached. Adi balanced his bike with a center stand.

Both sat and gazed towards the night sky.

Full moon and millions of millions of million sparkling stars.

They cuddled, had nice time together and were awestruck with the night beautiful sky.

Time flew so fast...

Chabbi got panic "Oye Hero. its 11 pm now; mom-dad will be worried and my mobile battery is drained off. Need to reach home fast".

"Oh yes. Oh yes. Can't we stop time here and pause world so that we can be together for much longer" Adi wished.

"Wish I can; Wish you can; Wish we can do it" Chabbi sighed.

"I started from office with depression, anger, drown in sorrow; but being with you turned me into happy and joy. You made my day." saying this Adi hugged Chabbi tightly once again.

"Without you, I just don't know how to live life?" Adi continued.

These words left Chabbi with tears in eyes.

She couldn't utter a single word.

Both on way to Chabbi's home, "I am dropping you at home; no fear of neighbor and all. It is late and I don't want to leave you alone. I will drop you till your home. Aunty and uncle know me so don't worry" Adi said.

Chabbi just nodded hmmm and hugged Adi tight keeping her face on Adi's shoulder.

Adi could feel the warmth of the hug and Chabbi's love for him.

Upon reaching Chabbi's home building, Adi pressed the elevator button.

Chabbi with a very low voice "I love you so much"

Adi holding her tight "I too love you"

"Promise me that you won't leave me alone"

"Promise Chabbi"

"I will always be there for you anytime anywhere" Adi replied.

"Me too. whenever you need me, I will be there" Chabbi replied.

Ting... Tong... Ting... Tong... Adi was pressing the bell.

"Hello Aunty, sorry to disturb you. We got late so I thought to drop Chabbi for safety. We had a party for me getting bulk order for a company" Adi said with a cute smile.

Chabbi's Mom was a bit surprised.

"Adi... Adi… Chabbi has left us for more than 6 months now" Chabbi's Mom said with concern for Adi.

"No.. Aunty... We were together" Adi said.

"Here she is......." Adi turned for Chabbi. But she was not there.

Adi then just realized, Chabbi was keeping her promise too.

Whenever he needed her, She will be here for him anytime anywhere
