"ONE TIGHT SLAP"

Dimly lit room decorated with roses; atmosphere filled with fragrance, bride dressed in beautiful red saree is eagerly waiting for her husband on beautifully decorated bed; red roses draws heart shape on bed sheet with surrounding pink roses scattered all over the bed, danglers of white, yellow, pink roses surrounding the pillars of bed. Glass of milk covered with nicely crafted silver plate is kept near the bed.

Groom dressed in beautiful embroidered white shinning sherwani, pink turban and holding royal sword in his hand, walks towards room accompanied by his friends. He is going through the world of feeling like Excitement, Tense, Nervous, Happiness, etc. and finally reaches at the room’s entrance door.

It is their much awaited first night. His friend encourages him to go inside and show her the real game. He goes inside the room, locks the door that even the ssscchrrr noise is not heard to anyone. Bride sees her husband from the nook of the eye corner and pulls her feet underneath of her red saree. She sees her husband, who in great excitement throws off his shoes to east, then the sherwani to west and then finally goes down his pant. Seeing her husband in brief and shorts, she gets the feeling of excitement but then to her horror; husband is enacting the famous Indian game “Kabaddi” “Kabaddi” “Kabaddi”, touches her quickly, before she could react he runs outside the room shouting “Hurrayyyyyy I won the game”. Embarrassed and astonished Dad gives him
“ONE TIGHT SLAP”.
Red face with fingers mark, hiding left cheek with one hand; husband goes inside room quietly and locks the door. Astonished and angry by the foolish act of husband, Bride sees him coming near bed; and then she jumps off the bed, enact the same game in front of husband and everyone outside can hear another “ONE TIGHT SLAP”. Husband stands still with both cheeks red.

I thought to share this story so as to refresh our memories back to such situation where we felt to give “ONE TIGHT SLAP” or felt being a victim (though not been) or felt to give yourself.

What made me to write on this topic “ONE TIGHT SLAP”? Well friends it goes like this….
My friend Durgesh felt one of my blog “Rome was not built in a day” was dry, mere lecture, philosophy, not interesting and was a serious topic. I looked at his face; said to him "yeah it was and what I should have wrote for him to create interest in blog. Is it Roman girls dancing; Rome romance; Rome love culture; Roman queen; Rome beauty contest; etc… Idiot this is a serious topic and rather say famous proverb, and I have spent one whole day to write on it and it seems lecture, philosophy, etc. to you”. I felt giving him “ONE TIGHT SLAP”.

I thought to write something which would definitely make him interest to read. After lot of debate in mind, discussing lot with friends; new topic came to mind “Do the needful”. I felt excited to write blog. I went to his cubicle and said to him "I got a topic for new blog ‘Do the needful”. His face expression signaled me “Good one, Abhishek go ahead”.

I wrote blog on ‘Do the needful’. The very same day when I had publish it online, Durgesh was leaving for his hometown. After 4 days trip, he came back from his hometown. I went to his cubicle and said him to read my blog and comment on it. He visited my blog site but instead of reading blog; he preferred first to read the comment on my blog. I asked him why you want to read comment first and the blog itself. He replied “Popularity of blog depends of number of comments”. He was trying to pull my leg.

Clock was ticking as fast as my heart beats; I was eager to see his comment. He called me for lunch; the very first question I asked him was about blog. His reaction was “Hmmmm…. There is no punch in blog…. Nananannhhhhhhhhh wo mazza nahi hai …. Would have been better…… not that much interesting…….” Though this was his honest comments and views, I felt like to give him the taste of
“ONE TIGHT SLAP”
Let’s take another story which goes like….
It was Mohit Birthday and we all were planning for party in evening. Everybody with great hope looked at me (being Chennaite) to suggest good hotel where we could have fun. After googling my mind for few minutes, brilliant (which I thought) hotel name“HOTEL CARNIVAL” came to my mind. The specialty of Hotel Carnival is that it is at roof-top and has rotating table. Everyone were excited to have dinner in to experience new concept of rotating table.

Everyone left in evening but I got struck in the meeting. Though explained him the location of hotel over phone, Durgesh called me 2-3 times. As soon as meeting got over, I called Mohit to inform that I will reach hotel within 45 minutes. I was half the way to home when I receive Mohit call; I picked the call to hear the shouting of all my friends “Hotel Carnival, which I had suggested is closed for past 3 months”. I was lucky for not being with them at that moment else I could have tasted “ONE TIGHT SLAP”.

I reached home and changed clothes. Ram called me and was trying to mimicry my boss voice and asking me "where am I going?" But I caught him. They were in Hotel Breeze. I went there and again it was like everyone wants to give me “ONE TIGHT SLAP” to have dress like superstar while they were in company uniform. It looked as if it was my birthday party and not Mohit’s party.

Now let’s take one more story.

I, Durgesh and Satish (My Boss) were having discussion with our President Rajesh regarding service reach across India. He showed us interactive map of India (precisely, click anywhere on map to have further details of our dealers). He instructed us to develop something similar for our service center details in such interactive map. Interactive Map which he showed to us was prepared in Macromedia Flash software; I was fighting with my mind whether same can be prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint or not. He instructed us to outsource this job to external agency to prepare interactive map but then spontaneously I said “Sir, I can prepare this Microsoft PowerPoint. There is no need of external agency”. He gave me 2 days for it. I agreed and promised him to show it after 2 days.

I worked on it for whole weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and prepared it for Monday presentation. It is rightly said “Hard work pays off well”. Everyone appreciated my work on Monday and were also surprised to know that it was prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint.

Story does not end here…
After few days, Satish explained to me what extra he requires in interactive map. He wants state-wise, district-wise and with the radar animating to show the particular town covering the surrounding towns. He told me "Abhishek, make it ready in 2 days". I replied “Sir, it is not possible in 2 days. It will take atleast 10-15 days to prepare it”. He said” Abhishek, I want it within one week”. I went to my friend cubicle begging him to give me “ONE TIGHT SLAP”. Why did I have taken this project? I would have been escaped if it was outsourced to external agency.

I took the project and worked for almost day – night for whole one week to complete each state, further detailing on each district of respective state and radar animation. I had to prepare different files for each state so as to keep master file to its minimum storage size. Final version of this reworked interactive map was again liked by everyone; even Board of Directors were impressed with it.

Story still does not end here…..

“Human beings are the most difficult creature on earth to make them satisfied”. Satish came to my cubicle and said “Abhishek, I do not want different files for state, why don’t you prepare it in single PowerPoint file”. I replied “Sir, I would have prepared but file storage size would be huge and it will take time to present the interactive map”. He said “Prepare it anyway”. This was the moment; I was scratching my hair, beating head with the walls, will pay my friends to give me “ONE TIGHT SLAP”. I am not getting anything in return; no promotion, no money for developing such presentation, no beautiful female secretary to assist me for this project then what on earth made me to take the initial project of interactive map? I have to work again for all states and district and prepare it from scratch.

These were the incidents which I recollect now gives me feeling of joy, fun time, de-stresses and refreshes mind for new fun ahead.

In precise, “ONE TIGHT SLAP” can be given to others or be victim of it or feel to give it to oneself. I just share few of my experience where these three words “ONE TIGHT SLAP” which seems to be violent but aren’t infact seems funny and enjoyable moments when we recollect such incidents later on in life. I am sure that you are also thinking of such incidents of “ONE TIGHT SLAP” and enjoying it now.
